Marina Developer & Boat Designer

RTA look to Board Member Steve Good for help on a number of issues. As a serial entrepreneur he has enjoyed a very varied business career. In so doing he has accumulated a wide ranging collection of skills, expertise and contacts. Of politics Witney based Cllr. Steve says, “I was privileged to work and campaign alongside the U.K. Prime Minister”.

Growing up beside the Thames Steve Good started a Holiday Hire boat business “Goodwill Cruisers” before he married at 21. He then went on to found multiple Inland Waterway businesses including moorings, boat sales, and brokerage, marine engineering, marine props hire & boat transport. By age 25 he had built his first 120 berth marina on the Grand Union canal in Watford. He then designed a range of six Inland Waterway craft with production in Stourport on Severn.(See large photos above).

Aged 30 he sold various of his business interests and joined the launch of “Motor Boats Monthly Magazine” as their Technical Consultant. Later as the Managing Director working with business partners they developed Buckden Marina & Leisure Club, leading to the Watermark Brand.

Still enjoying boating with his family Steve spent time in the Mediterranean and many years along the Thames. He was active with I. T. Companies during the “Dot. Com” boom. Today he enjoys helping business startups.


In addition to sitting on our Management Board and the three man “Development and Finance Set”, Steve is also the Chairman of the Thames Path National Trail  . . . . All 184 miles of it.
